It’s a bit stiff before washing, otherwise comfortable. It really looks good on, but if you are a petite build the sleeves aren’t going to look as tailored as the black jacket does in the product photo. I ordered a small and I’m going to take the sleeves in a bit to give it a more streamlined appearance.I bought this jacket to wear on cool nights sitting around the campfire when we are camping. It is warm and comfortable to wear. I bought a size larger than I normally would wear so I can wear extra layers of clothes under the jacket. It is well made and I am happy with this purchase.I bought this for my daughter as a gift she lives in Pennsylvania it’s snows and rains there regularly she loves it because it keeps her dry and warm it fits perfect and is very happy with it.Since sizing seems to have a lot of discussion, I thought I would share my fit. I am 5'2-1/2" 245lb. Size 22 fits close but I wear size 24 in dresses/business slacks or for things I want to be loose and flowy. My figure is proportionate meaning I wear the same general size on top and bottom with a bit larger chest than average (40DDD). I have a long-ish torso in comparison to my legs. I am almost always a 3X to fit my chest but I purchased a 2X based on reviews. The jacket fits perfectly! I have never had a coat fit me better! I can zip fully and I feel like I could wear a sweater beneath but wearing snow bibs in addition to a sweater might be pushing it across my middle - not my chest and shoulders. I think if size 22 jeans are slightly big on you, and you want to be able to layer snow gear, a 2X will be a perfect fit across the tummy area. I seriously have never worn a jacket that fits me in a more flattering way.I can't get over how the shoulders fit! This jacket fits my chest without being too wide across the top of my shoulder but is large enough across the back to have full range of motion. My arm length is average to short and if I let the sleeves fall past my hands at my sides, my finger tips hit at the beginning of the knit cuff so I have plenty of reach and I can easily tuck my hands into the sleeves during our cold MN winters. It is super warm without all the fluff. I would be comfortable down to 15 degrees F but I would have to layer if I was outside for colder temperatures or for more than an hour. This is jacket length for me - meaning it covers about 3 inches past my leg crease in the front and 80% of my backside. The back is slightly longer than the front but doesn't look that way when it is worn. Pockets are very generous for phones and keys and are comfortably placed. I feel like I will wear this for a very long time because it is very well-made. I can't believe this doesn't cost more.I am a farmer, and I live on the Missouri Kansas border. We always have high wind and when the temperatures are below 30 it is extremely cold. I bought this for when I’m out in the barn taking care of the animals. It has proved to be the best jacket I ever bought. I have 32 inch arms and the jacket fits perfectly. Most of the time when I buy a woman’s jacket The sleeves can be 3 inches too short. It has an excellent heavy duty metal zipper. In good pockets to warm hands. I belong to an online women’s farm group and someone asked what is the best apparel to wear while doing chores. And everyone suggested Carhartt I wholeheartedly agree. The fit was perfect the hood is just as windproof and doesn’t hang over your face the drawstring doesn’t get caught in equipment. The material is very easy to clean and I have had no issues with this jacket at all. It even has cuffs up under the sleeves. If anything I’ve had to reduce my clothing under the jacket or I get too hot. I am larger in the bottom than I am in the top and It fits well over the hips and rides well below the waist For added warmth. As most women’s coats go it is much heavier. I think it actually weighs 3 pounds or more. I certainly don’t mind the weight given the warmth and comfort of this jacket. I think I will have this for many years to come. This jacket is so sturdy, and actually lighter than I expected! I live in Minnesota where winters can be brutal. This jacket cuts the wind out and keeps you warm! I'm 5' 8", 240 lbs with a large chest 40DDD. I bought the 1X Pluss size and its fits great. I have enough room to wear a sweatshirt underneath and its not too tight. I love that the bottom part of the jacket is stretchy and fits over my hips as well.I’m glad they had this in my size. It’s hard to find good coats in 3X. I wish the Carhartt stores would be more inclusive and carry them, but they don’t. So, Amazon it is!!!Very nice cute, warm jacket! I am 5'10 180 pounds, I bought an XL but definitely could've gotten away with a large and still put a hoodie underneath. The extra wiggle room is super nice!!I had great hopes for this coat and they were dashed. I ordered a bigger size to put a hoodie underneath. It arrived well packaged and on time. However this coat does not fit close to the body near the hip part. The wind whips right up underneath it. I do agree it does cut the wind from going straight through on the upper body part. So it is okay with a hoodie underneath it. I am going to put an elastic in the bottom and see if that helps it. I did wash this coat and was not overly impressed with that either. It does stand up to farm chores and does not snag easy. Overall a 3 out of 5 jacket.I sized up because I listened to other reviews to do so. Normally a large/size 12, I think a large would have been just fine. Instead I purchased an XL and it is prettty big on me. Anyways it’s very comfy and flexible right out of the bag. A little thinner than expected but that gives me the opportunity to layer up or not.Good quality, definitely genuine Carhartt. I’m 5.1” 100lbs and the XS is perfect, fits nicely even with a sweater underneath.I got a size small. Plenty of room if I want to layer with a sweater. A medium wouldn’t been too big for sure. However, if you’re petite and tall (or just have long arms in general) be careful because the arms on the size small are very close to being too short even on me when I reach forward. This jacket is perfect. I am a size 20-22/2X (for most items) and I bought the 3x jacket. Fits exactly how i wanted it to. I have space for a sweater underneath. It's comfortable to do physical labor in and can move my arms around. I have such a hard time finding work wear that isn't mens wear, where there is no room for hips and curves. I highly suggest this item.
